Shortly before launch of the redesigned ally.com in 2010 the Ally executives decided they wanted a different homepage design with more marketing and persistent navigation in the header. We were familiar with these types of fire drills but this being the homepage gave it extra urgency. In less than a week we went through well over 100 designs and iterations. The fast pace made for an interesting and exhilarating few days playing with layout, imagery, and fonts. Despite the rushed timeline, the final design has performed well and was very well received by our customers as well as third party monitors like MyBankTracker and Change Sciences.
